Sometimes TV shows just aren't given a chance. Sometimes they stay on the air longer than you'd ever think. I'm honestly trying to figure out how Two Broke Girls is still on the air. It does feel like they yank shows off the air quicker than normal.

A couple shows that were actually gambled on more than they would be today were Seinfeld and The Office, the American version. Seinfeld started out in the summer and had terrible numbers. But NBC stuck with it, and it become a cultural phenomenon. And The Office had pretty bad ratings for the first season. But 40 Year Old Virgin was about to come out, and NBC anticipated Steve Carrell's popularity to sore and signed it on for a second season based on that hope. And it worked.

But unfortunately there are some shows that just don't get the run they deserve. Here are just a few that come to mind for me.

  • Freaks and Geeks
  • Firefly
  • Better Off Ted
  • And a lesser known show that unfortunately was a casualty of the writer's strike back in 2007-2008, and that's Life. I loved that show. It had Damian Lewis, and they even added Donal Logue to the show afterwards.
