United Blood Services Is In Critical Appeal For Blood

United Blood Services is asking for your help in a call for blood shortage in the Concho Valley.

United Blood Services here in San Angelo is asking for your help in replinishing their stock of  O Negative, A Negative and O Positive Blood. Due to the flu epedimic many donors have not been able to donate and it has caused donations to drop off tremendously.

The shortage that United Blood Services is experiencing is effecting and impacting their ability to serve the area hospitals , surguries that were elective and may soon have to delay others.

If you are atleast 16 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds and in good health you are eligible to donate blood. You can make an appointment by calling 325-223-7500 or go online to www.unitedbloodservices.org.  The donation center is located at 2020 West Beauregard and will be open Thursday Noon-6pm, Friday 8am-2pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. If you have access to Goodfellow Airforce Base you can donate Thursday January 24 at the US Army Events Center from 2pm-7pm or Friday January 25th Marine Corps Bus at Goodfellow from 3:30-6:30
