For such a peaceful country, Canada’s border officials are pretty hardcore. The latest band to discover this was the Used, who are in the process of canceling their Canadian tour dates after running into issues trying to enter the country.

In a posting on their Facebook page, the band writes, “We regret to inform that due to border and immigration issues that all of our Canada shows will be canceled. We are very sorry, but it’s completely out of our control. Once we are allowed back into Canada we will make up the canceled shows. We appreciate all of your love and support!”

For anyone who might doubt the sincerity of the statement (and really, why would you?), the group have posted a photo to go along with the message of the band looking fairly dejected while standing in front of a road sign stating “To Canada” with an arrow.

The border issues affected shows in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver between June 3-June 9. The shows were coming toward the end of their current tour leg, but they will still honor their dates in Seattle (June 10, Showbox at the Market) and Portland (June 11, Roseland Theater). After that, the group will be one of the Main Stage performers on the Vans Warped Tour, kicking off on June 16 in Salt Lake City. The group is currently touring in support of their newly released ‘Vulnerable’ album. Check out our recent video interview with the band here.
