Texas Named One Of The Worst States For Women’s Equality In Report

In a new report done by WalletHub, Texas was named one of the worst states for Women's Equality. Find out which states were named the best and the worst here.

You may think the United States is one of the very best countries for gender equalities and you would be sadly mistaken. We are by far not the worst but we are also not close to the best or getting better. In the past year, the United States has fallen 17 spots on the Global Gender Gap Index to number 45. Because of this, the personal finance website WalletHub decided to do an analysis to see what were the best and worst stated for women's equality.

To figure this out, they looked at all 50 states across 15 key metrics including:
Income gap, Executive positions gap, work hours, educational attainment, political representation and more.

The five BEST states were:

1. Hawaii
2. Nevada
3. Illinois
4. Minnesota
5. Washington

The five WORST states were:

1. Utah
2. Virginia
3. Texas
4. South Carolina
5. Georgia
