Meet Catalina, a fiery, Latina fighter joining Heihachi and the rest of the gang in Tekken 7.

According to Avoiding The Puddle, Bandai Namco has revealed the newest character to join the ranks of Tekken 7 during Mad Catz's presentation at the 2014 Tokyo Game Show. This new, sassy character is Catalina. It has been revealed that she'll continuously talk smack throughout her matches and that she is a 'beginner friendly' character. Namco will start doing location tests throughout Tokyo and Seoul in October for Tekken 7, and plans to have Catalina playable during this time. We hope you noticed Catalina's Mad Catz stomach tat in her concept art.

We have also learned that Tekken 7 will be Namco's attempt to bring back "Tekken's true essence" after Tekken Tag 2. There is going to be another playable character during these October location tests who has yet to be revealed -- it better be the adult version of Gon.

While no launch date has been set, we expect that we won't be seeing Tekken 7 launch until late 2015 or early 2016, likely to be on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 due to its use of Unreal Engine 4. We hope we're wrong, but there has yet to be any playable footage revealed yet, so we have a feeling Tekken 7 is still far from completion. We have provided the official video of Mad Catz's presentation at TGS 2014 for those who would like to watch the whole event.
