It’s a jolly holiday with Mary Poppins, as the practically perfect nanny flies into the Coliseum this Friday-Sunday, and helps us learn to take our medicine with a spoonful of sugar, find the silver lining in every situation, and realize that sometimes we should just use the winds of change to go fly a kite.

The San Angelo Broadway Academy was one of the first community theatre organizations in Texas to be granted permission to perform this once-in-a-lifetime production with eye-catching technical aspects, jaw-dropping sets and outrageous costumes.

The recently released smash Broadway musical will come to life on stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a special Mother’s Day performance at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 10. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students 12 and younger and military. They can be purchased in advance online at saba.ticketbud.com or by calling 325-763-4807. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour prior to each performance. Seating is general admission and all tickets purchased in advance will be held at the box office until the night of the show.

Mary Poppins is full of fantasy and magic, and, yes, Mary will fly high in the sky courtesy of ZFX flying! Featuring an irresistible story and breathtaking dance numbers with the tap-dancing chimney sweeps, this musical adventure appeals to families, who are guaranteed to walk out singing "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” Come and enjoy the magic of live theatre as Mary brings order to the Banks household, takes Jane and Michael out on magical adventures and dispenses sage advice in this special production of Mary Poppins.
