We know Corey Taylor misses the days when his tweets weren’t considered breaking news, but we hope #8 will understand this time around! In a Twitter thread started by Loudwire’s Graham Hartmann, Taylor actually confirmed that Slipknot will enter the studio in January to record their (six six) sixth studio album.

Slipknot surprised the metal world on Halloween with the sudden release of “All Out Life,” a rabid track which challenges the listener to live life to the fullest. However, this doesn’t mean Slipknot’s new album is already in the can. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan committed himself to entering the studio in November 2018 to begin the new album process, and it seems the rest of Slipknot will join him right after New Year’s.

In the aforementioned Twitter thread, Taylor responded to a fan who referenced our Rockers Predict New Tool Album Release video, where Corey cemented January 2020 as his official pick.

Thinking the fan was referring to Slipknot’s next album, Corey politely laid out the band’s plan:

After Graham cleared up what the fan was referencing, Taylor responded:

The misunderstanding turned out to be a blessing, as we now have a more full understanding of Slipknot’s plans for 2019. Stay tuned for more updates as they roll in and get excited for Slipknot to take over the summer of 2019.
