Yes, there was still a Blockbuster store in Texas in the year 2018, but just barely.

Edinburg was home to the last Blockbuster in Texas, which closed last week after a liquidation sale, according to the Houston Chronicle:

The Edinburg, Texas store was a media sensation for years as one of the last places where film fans could enjoy the Blockbuster brand, which dominated the home video market for years.

Former owner Alan Payne still owns six Blockbuster stores, all in Alaska. There's also two left in Oregon if you're passionate enough to make the drive. Just don't incur a late fee in the process. Or, you can wait and see if Alamo Drafthouse brings the video store experience back to Texas.
