Railroad Construction Causes Delays Beginning on Oct. 28th
The replacement of two railroad crossings will cause traffic delays beginning next week.
On Oct. 28, K&R Railroad Construction, working in conjunction with Texas-Pacifico Transportation, will begin replacing the railroad crossing on South Bryant Boulevard (U.S. Highway 87) between Avenue L and Avenue K. Lane restrictions at times will narrow Bryant to one lane in each direction (north and south). The construction and the restrictions are anticipated to last eight days. Weather conditions could extend that timeframe.
Following the work on Bryant, construction crews will move to Knickerbocker Road to replace the railroad crossing at Austin and Currier streets. Lane restrictions are expected to again last eight days. Currier will be closed to traffic the final three days of the project, with vehicles detoured via Foster Road to Jackson Street and back onto Knickerbocker.
