Bad news for racing fans who wanted to jump into Project CARS as soon as it was released in November. It's going back to the garage for an overhaul.

According to VG247, it was rumored that Project CARS' launch was being delayed thanks to an announcement on the game's backer-only forums. A statement released by Bandai Namco has confirmed that Slightly Mad Studios has pushed the release date back to March 20, 2015 to work on it some more.

“Whilst a tough decision to make, the change in release date allows the game the greatest chance of success and visibility, and the opportunity to polish the game even further to the high standards that both ourselves and our community demand and expect. We’re eager for you all to see what we’ve been working on in just a few months," said Slightly Mad Studios head Ian Bell.

Project CARS was originally intended to launch on Nov. 21 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but hopefully the delay will provide Slightly Mad Studios with the time it needs to really make it the best racing game it can be -- because we really want to race all of those Aston Martins.
