On Monday, August 26, 2013, San Angelo Police Sector 1 Patrol Officers conducted a traffic stop on a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck in the 2200 block of Pecan Street for several traffic violations.
Upon the officers’ approach of the vehicle, they observed a male driver and female passenger making suspicious movements.

Subsequent to their field investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of a substance that field-tested positive for approximately 4.7 grams of methamphetamine.  Police also located several items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Amando Leal of San Angelo.  He was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (4g<200g) and transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

During the investigation, the 26-year-old female passenger requested medical attention.  San Angelo Fire Department personnel arrived to the scene and transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown medical problems.  The woman, who has not been charged in this incident, was later released by hospital staff.

Animal Control Officers were also called to the scene to take possession of two dogs that were inside the vehicle at the time of the arrest.  The vehicle was towed to Home Motors.
