Nordic Games Comments on Darksiders 3
Could the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse be back in the saddle? Nordic Games has chimed in and we have our hopes up.
Nordic Games claims it will not settle for second-best scenarios in regards to the next entry of the Darksiders series, Rock Paper Shotgun reports. The Darksiders license was stuck in the purgatory of the THQ bankruptcy until the company sold it to Nordic Games along with multiple other IPs that were under the THQ label. While we have been patiently waiting for the next entry of the series, we finally caught some good news. We recently reported that Darksiders' creative director Joe Madureira said the following in regards to the future of the series:
“Darksiders is not dead! The new owner, Nordic, seems very committed to continuing the series. As far as my involvement, I can’t say at this point," Madureira posted on his Facebook. "Hopefully we will all have exciting news about the franchise soon!”
Madureira's public statement about the Darksiders' future hints that there have been talks about what will happen next with the series. A representative from Nordic Games responded to Rock Paper Scissors' inquiries with the following optimistic message in regards to Madureira's statement:
“With regards to Darksiders 3: of course we’ve always been busy in the background, talking to a lot of former team members about a continuation of the series, but we are not ready to announce anything officially. Joe Madureira is spot on in saying that DS is not dead and we are committed, though.”
“Before we can say something about the ‘how’ and ‘when’ of publishing/financing the sequel is concerned, we are still busy in properly figuring out the ‘who’ part of this large-scale project. All I can say is that we can and will not settle for second-best solutions in the case of Darksiders.”
While a reveal any time soon is likely out of the question, the evidence that Darksiders is still alive is good for fans of the series. Hopefully it won't be long until a proper sequel does arrive.
