Bryan N. Angle, MD was a “military brat” throughout his childhood living in such places as San Antonio, Texas, Salina, Kansas, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His high school years were spent in Adana, Turkey, where he graduated in May of 1978.

Bryan returned to the states and began work as an electrician’s helper in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but moved to San Angelo, Texas where his father was stationed as a Small Arms instructor at Goodfellow AFB. In April 1980, Bryan enlisted in the US Air Force as a Medic and Surgical Scrub. After 3 years and 8 months, he separated under Palace Chase to attend college at Angelo State University. Bryan graduated with honors in December of 1986, but completed AFROTC and was commissioned in June of 1987 with a dual major in Premed Chemistry and Biology.

Bryan applied for and was accepted to Medical School at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which he completed in June of 1991. Dr. Angle attended the first and second years of General Surgery at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, leaving for a flight medicine assignment at Cannon AFB in Clovis, New Mexico through September of 1995. Dr. Angle was reassigned as a pre-residency fellow at Brooks AFB, Texas in the Aeromedical Consultation Service, Ophthalmology Branch.

Dr. Angle was accepted to the Join Ophthalmology Residency at Wilford Hall and Brooke Army Medical Centers and was the Chief Resident finishing in 2001. He was assigned to Offutt AFB, at Omaha, Nebraska, and Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was during his time at Kirtland AFB, that he was assigned to the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group in Balad, Iraq in 2005. Dr. Angle retired from the US Air Force as a Lt Colonel in December of 2007.

Dr. Angle was accepted to Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at South Texas Retinal Consultants in Corpus Christi, Texas and completed his training in December of 2008. Dr. Angle joined Angelo Retina Associates in January of 2009 and purchased the practice in September 2010.
