Machine Head Cover System of a Down, Foo Fighters at London Show

Ten Ton Hammer, the cover band that looks and sounds exactly like Machine Head (because it is Machine Head), played a ‘secret’ show in London at King’s College last night (June 6). Among the songs covered by Ten Ton Hammer were System of a Down‘s ‘Sad Statue’ and the Foo Fighters song ‘Everlong.’

Named after the opening track on their 1997 album ‘The More Things Change…,’ Ten Ton Hammer has played periodic shows over the years, and their appearance in London was their first in a decade.

Machine Head snagged their first ever UK festival headlining slot at this year’s Bloodstock on August 11. During their set the band will play five songs from their debut album ‘Burn My Eyes’ to mark the 20th anniversary of their first live performance, which was at roadie Mike Scum’s ‘getting evicted from his house’ party, where Machine Head played five songs.

Which five songs from ‘Burn My Eyes’ will Machine Head play? That will be up to the fans. Details will be announced on how Bloodstock ticket holders will be able to vote on the ‘Burn My Eyes’ tracks the band will play.

Machine Head recently released the single ‘Darkness Within’ from their 2011 album ‘Unto The Locust.’ In addition to Bloodstock they are playing several other European festivals this summer, including Download (Donington, UK), Hellfest (France), Graspop (Belgium) and Wacken (Germany).
