BIG SPRING, Texas (AP) — Part of an Interstate 20 overpass in West Texas has been closed after collapsing during a two-vehicle wreck.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Thursday did not immediately provide an update on when the stretch of I-20 west of Big Spring would reopen. The accident happened late Tuesday night near mile marker 170.

Officials say one 18-wheeler hit a guard rail, the driver over-corrected and the truck smashed into the support beams, causing a section of overpass to fall. A second big rig then hit the debris on I-20.

Investigators say both drivers suffered minor injuries in the accident. No charges were immediately filed.
