Sad news to report from Mexico as a a group of Guns N' Roses fans were involved in a bus accident heading to the band's show in Mexico City. The overturned bus resulted in the death of one fan and has left 28 more injured.

According to Excelsior, the bus flipped on a wet roadway while traveling down the Mexico-Queretaro highway at kilometer 81. It is unknown if excessive speed played a role in the accident. The injured passengers were taken to the Mexican Social Security Institute in the municipality of Tepeji del Río and three are said to be in serious condition. Mauricio Ballesteros Zamora, aged 35, was confirmed to have lost his life due to head trauma and internal injuries.

Bassist Duff McKagan sent out a tweet offering his condolences to the Zamora family and expressing grief after learning of the news. A tweet from Guns N' Roses came shortly after, furthering the sentiments of McKagan. It should be noted the tweet describes 29 injured, though the Excelsior report mentions 28. Both tweets can be seen below:

Guns N' Roses wrapped up two performances in Mexico City last week with back-to-back shows on April 19 and 20. The group, now boasting original members Duff McKagan and guitarist Slash, tore through classics like "It's So Easy," "Welcome to the Jungle," "November Rain" and more.

Frontman Axl Rose was again confined to the guitar throne he has borrowed from Dave Grohl, nursing a broken bone in his foot. Still giving his best effort from the seat, Rose did his best snake dance and was as animated as possible despite the limitations.

Loudwire extends their deepest sympathies to the Zamora family and wishes a speedy recovery to all those injured in the accident.
