Gojira are certain to go down as one of 2012′s hardest hitting metal acts. Having built a hardcore underground following since the release of various demos in the late ’90s, along with their 2001 debut, ‘Terra Incognita,’ Gojira were absolutely ready to explode into one of modern metal’s biggest bands with their Roadrunner Records debut, ‘L’Enfant Sauvage.’

As ‘L’Enfant Sauvage’ hit the shelves on June 26, the record was met with unanimous praise and has been viewed by many as the single-most exciting metal album of the year so far. Shortly after Gojira’s crushing set at the Heavy MTL festival, we were able to sit down with frontman Joe Duplantier to speak about the success of ‘L’Enfant Sauvage,’ the band’s canceled tour with Dethklok and Lamb of God, Duplantier’s views on Randy Blythe‘s incarceration + much more.
