It's a sad day for the gaming community as a former pro gamer has been killed by a 16-year-old girl while trying to sell his PlayStation 4.

The Huffington Post reports that 28-year-old Daniel John Zeitz of Roswell, Georgia, known across the MLG and pro Gears of War scenes as Phobos, has been shot and killed while a teenage girl and her boyfriend tried to rob him of his PlayStation 4 console. Zeitz originally intended to sell his console to 20-year-old Nathaniel Vivian in an apartment complex's parking lot -- the two met through Zeitz' listing on Craigslist. Nathaniel Vivian tried to steal the console and Zeitz resisted. Vivian's 16-year-old girlfriend then pulled out her .25 caliber pistol and fired a shot that went through Vivian's hand and went into Zeitz's chest, killing him in the process. The couple had a 16-month-old baby in their car while they were trying to rob Zeitz.

We have learned that Vivian and the minor/mother were both apprehended that same night. The 16-year-old murderer who has a 16-month-old baby is going to be tried as an adult. Her daughter was handed over to her relatives.

Zeitz was a respected player throughout the Gears of War community. His former teammates are hosting a GoFundMe campaign in order to cover the funeral costs for his family and have already raised over $18,000. His team members are believed to be the last people to speak to the victim before he went to go sell his PS4 on the morning of Sept. 16.

We here at Arcade Sushi implore our readers to always meet in heavily lit and very public/populated areas whenever you intend to do business with strangers through Craigslist. Whenever possible, never go alone when you plan on going to meet someone through Craigslist or any other form of online venue.

Here is a heartfelt video from arCtiC, one of Phobos' longtime Gears of War buddies, rallying viewers to visit the GoFundMe page and help support Zeitz's family.
