Foo Fighters Announce 20th Anniversary Bash for July 4 in Washington, D.C.

For Dave Grohl, much of his early musical journey took place in Washington, D.C., so it makes sense that the rocker would return to his home base to put on a major celebration to mark Foo Fighters' 20th Anniversary. Not to mention the fact that performing on the most patriotic of holidays -- the 4th of July -- in our nation's capital is a nice touch as well.

Foo Fighters will invite many of the influential artists who've represented the cities in their 'Sonic Highways' HBO series to take part in the celebration. Red hot guitarist Gary Clark Jr. will represent Austin. Chicago's Buddy Guy will lay down some of his legendary blues licks. Heart, who just rocked 'The Late Show With David Letterman' with Foo Fighters, will join the festivities on behalf of Seattle. Joan Jett will represent Los Angeles with some ties to New York as well. Also hailing from New York will be rap legend LL Cool J with special guest DJ Z-Trip. Trombone Shorty, who just played the Voodoo Music Experience with Foo Fighters in New Orleans, will be on hand for some Big Easy love. And Washington, D.C. legends Trouble Funk will also play.

The concert event will take place on the 4th of July at Washington, D.C.'s RFK Stadium, with tickets set to go on sale this Saturday (Nov. 8) at 10AM ET. There will be no pre-sale, so if you want to go, be prepared for Saturday's ticket launch. Also be aware that there will be no reserved seating for the show. It is a general admission event, with tickets divided between field and seated tickets. Check here on Saturday to purchase your tickets.
