Start a new  New Year’s tradition on Wednesday, January 1, 2014,at San Angelo State Park.  Take a “first day” hike with a park ranger at the park at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The hike will be guided by park ranger who will point out wildlife, plant life, geological features, discuss area history and the interesting points of the park.  Members of the San Angelo Bicycling Association will have a road and mountain bike ride in the park at 10:30 am.  Meet at the South Shore Gatehouse at the park.

       
All participants are urged to have comfortable walking shoes, a hat or cap, and plenty of water. For the bike ride please have a bicycling helmet. A short hike or bike ride is a great way to start on those new years’ resolutions and life is better outside.  The first day hike and bike rides are free to the public so come out and enjoy the park.
