Falling in Reverse are hard at work on a new album, which is expected out some time in 2017. While the details surrounding the follow-up to 2015's Just Like You remain sparse, the band has given fans something to chew on in the meantime by way of the ethereal new song "Coming Home."

The track is a departure from the frenetic energy of previous efforts, sonically connecting with the image of the astronaut that is the focal point of the video above. "Coming Home" begins with a delicate piano melody as vocal effects are layered over a choir of "Whoa-oh" melodies.

Dominated by an airy synth, singer Ronnie Radke slowly delivers soulful, emotional lines set to the plodding pace of the song. The chorus entertains a massive, sweeping refrain with multi-tracked vocals for a grander effect.

The band's upcoming album is a “huge left turn,” Radke said when speaking with Alternative Press earlier this year. “It sounds like nothing we’ve ever done. Every song is very vibey. There’s more feeling in it instead of a lot of metal. We’re trying to make the sound that we’ve never done before," he added.

“We’re challenging ourselves now more than we ever have in the weirdest ways possible, because you would think writing the craziest solo or riffs would be the challenging part," the frontman continued, "But the challenging part is trying to stick to a theme and not go all over the place like we would normally do.”

Falling in Reverse will hit the road on Jan. 13 in Tempe, Ariz. on a headlining run dubbed 'The End Is Here' tour. Joining them will be Issues, Motionless in White, Dangerkids and Dead Girls Academy and the trek wraps up on Feb. 12 in San Diego.
