Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri is not one to hold his opinions back and he recently went off on Static-X, calling the decision for the living members to tour following the 2014 death of Wayne Static a “cash grab.”

Palmeri was a guest on the BREWtally Speaking Podcast!, and the singer didn’t mince words when discussing Static-X’s recently announced tour to celebrate their late singer and the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album Wisconsin Death Trip. Palmeri says, “I think it’s just crazy that they are touring without Wayne." Static passed away on Nov. 1, 2014 from a lethal mix of prescription drugs and alcohol. He adds, “There must be some really bad blood for them to wanna do that.” Listen to the entire interview below.

The Emmure vocalist also shared that no members of Static-X attended a 2015 memorial show held for Static. “No one that was part of Static-X was at his memorial show. There’s no way there was any closure there," says the singer. "So I think that doing the tour and the album without him is just a huge ‘fuck you’ to him probably. That’s what it feels like. It’s very obvious it’s a cash grab, but you can’t get mad at that. It just is what it is.”

Static-X recently announced plans for a tour with DevilDriver and Dope, as well as a tribute album titled Project Regeneration, featuring music Static had worked on prior to his death. The band has yet to announce who will sing in place of the late vocalist and guitarist on the tour. Drummer Ken Jay says, “We understand that people are naturally going to want to know more about who is singing. We have discussed this at great length and we came to the conclusion that at this time, it would be inappropriate for us to put the focus on anyone other than Wayne, Tony, Koichi and myself. This feels like the best way for us to celebrate Wayne's legacy, along with the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip, with all of our fans."

The tour kicks off on June 18 in Tempe, Ariz. and wraps in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 27. See all tour dates here.
