Deftones have just released Gore, their long-awaited successor to 2012's Koi No Yokan. The band gave fans a taste of the album with the leading single "Prayers / Triangles" in February and now the quintet have rounded out the song with the visual component for the largely calming track, premiering the video at Noisey.

Bathed in trippy, psychedelic graphics, the video open up with a rotating, triangular, kaleidoscopic wormhole decorated in vibrant hues of pink outside its center. At the end of the spiraling void is frontman Chino Moreno who stands amidst warm yellow and orange tones as his ethereal voice spills his cryptic lyrics to "Prayers / Triangles." Spliced in with the mind-bending colors and imagery are black and white clips of Moreno walking the streets in a hurried, almost manic pace.

Silhouettes of the band are placed against both black and white backgrounds and illuminated with more neon colors, sticking mostly with pink, purple, orange and yellow hues. The textures within these colors are in a constant state of motion, perfectly complementing the dream-like state of "Prayers / Triangles."

Prior to Gore's release, Moreno spoke to Kerrang! about the record and shared a unique aspect about his writing and how it ties the album's cover together. “It’s got a different look," he began, continuing, "A different shade of color. I’d say some shade of purple. I don’t know why, but I think it sits somewhere between pink, red and purple. Sometimes when I hear music, I see color, and when it came time to work on the artwork for this batch of songs, I knew exactly what I wanted.”

Deftones will be hitting the road in support of Gore in May and again in August. For a full list of dates, head to our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
