Love him or hate him, reactions certainly ran the gamut when NBC announced that it had partnered for a single-camera sitcom featuring controversial comedian Dane Cook as the acerbic radio host of 'Next Caller.' Initially picked up to series, NBC reportedly changed their minds about the series after shooting four episodes, pulling the plug on production, but Cook seems to have found yet another home. The "Harmful if Swallowed" comedian has put into development a new starring series with the network, but what can fans expect from Dane Cook this time?

'Next Caller,' next series? Even though comedian Dane Cook's NBC comedy 'Next Caller' and its first four episodes will never see the light of day, the network has decided to stay in business with the comedian. According to Deadline, NBC and Universal TV have inked a new deal with Cook to develop a starring vehicle for himself.

'Next Caller,' written by ‘Weeds‘ Stephen Falk followed a bright-eyed young host named Stella (‘Cougar Town‘s Collette Wolfe), whose dream job at a satellite radio station crashes to a halt when paired with her chauvinistic co-host (Cook). The series also boasted ‘Arrested Development‘s Jeffrey Tambor, and Ryan Devlin, but apparently wasn’t moving in the direction NBC had hoped, leading to its cancellation.

It remains unknown what Dane Cook's next stab at the network will be, but what say you? Do you think Dane Cook is a good fit for TV? Would you have watched 'Next Caller?'
