The Dallas Cowboys travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams, Saturday at 8:15pm EST. Here are some notes and things to look for:

  • This game could come down to which running back is able to find room to run.
    • Todd Gurley is healthy (although not known if he'll be 100%) and will play for the Rams.
    • Ezekiel Elliott had a huge wild card game against the Seahawks with 137 yards and a score while averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
    • The Rams were the worst team in the NFL this year giving up 5.1 yards per carry.
  • The big turn around for the Cowboys this season can be traced back to the acquisition of Amari Cooper from the Raiders. Cooper is very familiar with the Rams cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters.
    • Talib used to play for the Broncos and Peters played for the Chiefs. Two teams Cooper would face twice a year in the AFC West.
  • The Cowboys and Rams have met in the playoffs a record 8 times, with this game being their 9th.
    • The playoff series is tied at 4 and 4.
    • Despite having met so many time in the playoffs, they haven't faced off since 1985.
  • Since 1993, the Cowboys have gone on the road in the playoffs 7 times. They've lost all 7 of those games.
