Graduating seniors across the country are looking for ways to pay for their college education.  In an effort to assist students, especially first-generation students, to begin the process of seeking financial aid, the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce and its P-16+ Education Partnership will host College Goal Sunday this Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Sunset Mall Community Room.  All San Angelo and area high schools students and their parents are invited to attend.
All participants will be entered into a drawing for two $500 tuition scholarships given by Standard Sales of San Angelo and three $250 tuition scholarships given by the San Angelo P-16+ Education Partnership.  Only students that register and attend the event will be elegible to win the scholarships.

The San Angelo Region College Goal Sunday will pull together volunteers and financial aid professionals to help families of college-bound students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the federally required form for students seeking financial aid, including grants, loans and work-study.

By participating in this two-hour free event, families of college-bound students will take an important step toward applying for the financial resources necessary to make college a reality.  For more information about College Goal Sunday, contact Sandra Pomroy at the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, 655-4136.
