Heavy metal cruises are the newest craze to take over the spirit of festivals. There's not much cooler than seeing your favorite bands perform two or three times over the course of a weekend on the high seas... other than seeing members of your favorite bands perform some of metal's most cherished classics together! This year's 70,000 Tons of Metal all-star jam was orchestrated by Annihilator frontman Jeff Waters and included current and former members of Children of Bodom, Moonspell, Lacuna Coil, Iced Earth, Slayer, Vader, Raven and so many more!

Before the cruise set sail, lineups and song selections were already in place, including (in order) Metallica's cover of Diamond Head's "Am I Evil?" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (video below), "Over the Mountain" (Ozzy Osbourne), "Killed By Death" (Motorhead), "Blackout" (Scorpions), "Cemetery Gates" (Pantera), "Children of the Grave" (Black Sabbath), "Ace of Spades" (Motorhead, video above), "2 Minutes to Midnight" (Iron Maiden, video below), "Rapid Fire" (Judas Priest), "Touch Too Much" (AC/DC) and, finally, "Painkiller" (Judas Priest, video below).

The lineup was switched up for each song and singers included Fernando Ribeiro of Moonspell, Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia, Iced Earth frontman Stu Block, Raven's John Gallagher, Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray and more. Perhaps nothing was more fitting than former Slayer and current Dead Cross drummer Dave Lombardo pounding the skins to the pure metal devastation that is Judas Priest's "Painkiller" which can be seen below, complete with the screeching highs of Stu Block.
