The second act to one of the best adventure games of 2014 has been delayed to early next year.

Polygon reports that Greg Rice of Double Fine Productions has made a post on Broken Age's official forums, announcing that the second act of the game will be launching in early 2015. Broken Age: Act 1 was a fantastic game that paid proper tribute to the point-and-click adventure games that Tim Schafer and the rest of Double Fine were known for in the past. Unfortunately, only half of it was released.

"The goal now is to get all the finale work done so we can hit Alpha on all of Act 2 by the end of the year," said Rice. "That means, as you may have guessed based on recent updates and documentary episodes, the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year."

"The game is looking really good and the team is working super fast, but we just gotta give the game the time it needs to really deliver on everything we're hoping it will be."

Broken Age was split into two acts when Double Fine realized its original Kickstarter wouldn't be able to fund the entire game. Even after a second successful crowdfunding campaign, Schafer split the game into two halves to get something out for all the people who have waited for the game and to use the proceeds from Act 1's release to help fund the production of Broken Age: Act 2.

Those who bought Broken Age: Act 1 will be getting Act 2 for free when it launches in early 2015 for PC.
