Breast Health Tip Seven: The Healthy Woman Exam

Genevieve Pfluger Mejia, M.D. is an obstetrician and gynecologist at San Angelo Community Medical Center, and also serves as the Medical Director for the Laura Bush Institute of Women’s Health. This program provides free mammograms for the under-insured and uninsured. In this video, Dr. Mejia explains the importance of the Well Woman Exam. This includes a thorough history and family history, clinical breast exam, PAP Smear, physical exam, screening evaluation for tests depending on your age, referrals if needed, and refills for medications. It is vital that women have these once year. Prevention is key to staying healthy!
