Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler has offered his first comments since being arrested earlier this week for a barroom dust-up. The legendary bassist checked in via Twitter with a brief but to-the-point message about the incident.

As reported earlier this week, Butler engaged in some fisticuffs at the Corkscrew Saloon in Death Valley, Calif. Police report that an individual was struck during the altercation and a window was left broken. Butler was briefly taken into custody on misdemeanor assault charges, with public intoxication and vandalism also being part of the arrest record. After a short time in jail for detox, Butler was released.

The official arrest record reads:

Shortly after midnight on January 27th Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding a verbal and physical altercation that took place at the Corkscrew Saloon located at the Furnace Creek Ranch property in Death Valley National Park. After the Inyo County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene and interviewed witnesses it was determined that there had been an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation – resulting in an individual being struck, and a broken window. Terence Michael Butler a 65-year old man from Beverly Hills, CA was arrested for misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism. Butler was booked into the Inyo County Jail and released after detox and citation.

Butler commented on the situation via Twitter yesterday (Jan. 29):

The legendary bassist added another tweet of himself sitting on a desert platform with a ghostly figure handling a bicycle behind Butler. A caption reads, "After that little distraction.":

Butler will reportedly get back together with his Black Sabbath bandmates to work on what is expected to be their final album and tour. No timetable for the release has been set.
