AxeWound, the metal supergroup featuring Bullet for My Valentine vocalist Matt Tuck on guitar and Cancer Bats vocalist Liam Cormier in the frontman position, are letting no grass grow under their boots. The band is working quickly and has released a new taste of music, this time in the form of ‘Cold.’

‘Post Apocalyptic Party’ was first issued as a free download so fans could get their feet wet, in terms of the sound and idea of this new project. The ‘Party’ has been followed by the equally mosh-tastic ‘Cold,’ which the band shared with the BBC. It has now landed online for your listening pleasure. The song mixes melody and maelstrom, but it sounds nothing like either of the principal members’ other bands.

The song, which clocks in at just over four minutes, is nasty metal, with a touch of melody and clean singing in the chorus, which means the song’ll stick to your skull, but only after it’s booted you in the brain. Have a listen to the breakdown that roars at about two-and-half-minutes in. The song closes with thunderous percussion that could shake the earth to its very core.

AxeWound are prepping the album ‘Vultures’ and have a spate of European tour dates on the horizon.
