In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Angelo State University’s Multicultural Center will host a Cuban Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The celebration will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center’s central lobby and is open free to the public.  Activities will highlight Cuban history and culture, including native food, music and other traditions, as well as a guest salsa performance by Angel and Dorothy Noriega.

Cuba is the largest Caribbean island with a population of more than 11 million people.  Its people, culture and customs draw from diverse sources and influence many other cultures, including the U.S.
