As native New Yorkers, Anthrax were thrilled getting to play Yankees Stadium a couple of years ago for 'The Big 4.' But the honor didn't just stop there, as the band recently learned that the specialized Yankees jerseys made for the occasion are currently hanging in the historic baseball stadium for all to see.

The band posted an enthusiastic tweet about, with a little dig at their brethren in thrash metal and 'Big 4' cohorts Slayer, for good measure. Given the Yankees injury issues this spring, it might be time for Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Charlie Benante and Joey Belladonna to break those jerseys out of display and suit up for the big league team.

So what was with that little dig at Slayer? It could have something to do with the fact that the bands are going head-to-head in Loudwire's
March Metal Madness. The longtime pals have their classic albums 'Among the Living' and 'Reign in Blood' pitted against each other in Round 2 of the competition to determine the best metal album of all-time. The Yankees jersey posting was actually the second swipe that Anthrax took at Slayer on Friday (March 22), with the first coming during their
tweet promoting the competition between the two bands. It can be read here:
